One cool thing at fabric.com site is the design wall! You can save the photos of fabrics you are looking at on this design wall and you can see how your fabric choices look together!
My latest purchase 07/10/2018:
I LOVE Batiks! Batik fabrics are cool because the design is on both sides of the fabric. Check out the endless fabric selections and FIND A FABRIC YOU LOVE!
I recommend investing in a QUALITY pair of Sewing Shears! The name brands I use are Gingher, Fiskars and my latest purchase: Tula Pink! I have been using Gingher Sewing Shears, same pair for the last 20 years! You can see pictures of my scissors in my post Sewing Safety Tips. These Tula Pink scissors were love at first sight for me! I LOVE the awesomely cool colors of these Tula Pink Shears, and FINALLY decided to purchase a pair!
I’ve used these scissors and they are indeed sharp! (If you’ve ever watched ‘Forged in Fire’ you’ll understand my attempt at a little humor- These scissors WILL cut!) 🙂
Update 7/19/18–I have noticed that the bottom handle for the fingers is slightly smaller than my Gingher Shears. I do have large hands, so if you have small to medium sized hands the difference in handle size most likely won’t affect you. I’ll still use these scissors, but if I have a larger project to cut I will be switching to my Gingher Shears to give my fingers the extra room.
I definitely suggest having a pair of embroidery scissors by your sewing machine! These scissors have shorter blades and are perfect for trimming threads!
